Much has been published recently about Creative Economy,
Creative Industries and Cultural Industries. The broader
term – Creative Economy – was widened even
further in recent publications such as articles in Business
Week, whose cover page of August 1st, 2005 was “Get
Creative!” setting a clear sign for the belief
that changes in business concepts will from now on be
heavily influenced by the so-called Creative Economy.
In accordance with Bruce Nussbaum and Robert Berner
in Chicago, and Diane Brady in New York, all on the
staff of the above weekly publication, “The Knowledge
Economy as we know it is being eclipsed by something
new – call it the Creativity Economy”.
The Forum “Beyond 2005” held in Singapore
in November, 2005 and the “Shanghai International
Creative Industry Week”, held in China in December,
2005, effectively evidenced this movement, not to mention
the International Creative Industries Forum, organized
at government level, which in April, 2005 decided to
host the International Creative Industries Center in
Salvador, in the State of Bahia.
In this page you will also find several bibliographic
references on the subject, as well as commented articles
on Creative Economy concepts.
